Cleaning up a messy desktop can be a tedious chore, but it has to be done, especially if you can't work with too many icons on your screen. If you are feeling particularly lazy and want to shove all icons somewhere and deal with them later, then DesktopTidy is something you will definitely want to try. It enables you to clean your entire desktop instantly, with nothing more than one click or keystroke.

The application comes with a compact user interface. It contains several options, which can be found on separate tabs. All you have to do is click a large button, on the Clean tab and all icons on your desktop will disappear instantly. DesktopTidy will send the files to a default location, but you can choose a different one, on the Settings tab. The moved files can be restored just as fast, just by selecting a storage folder, on a standard Open dialog.

DesktopTidy provides a few advanced features as well. The cleanup task can be performed with a custom hotkey. What's more, you can add files to an exception list, if you don't want them removed from your desktop. Another interesting feature is the application's automated cleanup capability. DesktopTidy allows you to set a maximum number of allowed files on the desktop. If the files on your desktop exceed that number, the application will start cleaning up automatically.
